DBQuest: The Remake
It's a working title.
DBQuest was a small DOS based tile game released as freeware in the 90s. It was made in the style of other tile RPGs of the era, but with a much, much smaller budget. It reached moderate success on various BBS sites, and achieved a tiny cult following mostly consisting of the author and his cats. A word of warning: the author and his cats are powerful wizards able to fold the fabric of space and time to better assist them in the creation of old tile games. To you mortals this period of feverish development will appear as long lulls and sporadic updates.
Yes.
Decades have passed since I touched that game world and so I thought it would be fun to remake the original game with a new tile engine reminiscent of what was available in the 90s, but with a modern UI and gameplay elements.
I never really got over tile based RPGs.
If you're looking for free game tiles, check the downloads section. They come with a reasonable license. If you'd like new tiles drawn for your game, please contact me using the contact information on the about page. The free tiles are approximately 15 years old and haven't been updated since I drew them all those years ago, but hey - they're free right?
